Terms of use

1. Permission to play

Subject to these terms and any applicable store license, you receive a limited, non-exclusive permission to use Word Porch for personal, non-commercial entertainment on devices you are entitled to use. You must have legal capacity to agree, or use the game with a parent or guardian’s involvement where required, and follow the store’s age and account rules.

For Apple-distributed copies, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless an applicable custom license is supplied through Apple. These website terms do not replace that license or restrict rights granted by mandatory law, store usage rules, or an open-source license.

2. Content and fair use

Original code, text, design, branding, and other protectable contributions are owned by their respective rights holders. © 2026 Victor Fang, with rights reserved in his original contributions. Third-party software and public-domain materials retain their own terms; the game includes dictionary credits. Travel artwork includes AI-generated, imagined scenes and is not a documentary view or navigation reference. Destination stories are general information.

You may save and share the postcards, score cards, and puzzle challenges the game lets you export for personal, non-commercial use. Do not imply our endorsement. Apart from permissions given here, by law, or by a third-party license, do not redistribute or sell the game or its assets, bypass purchases, tamper with transaction or reward verification, interfere with the website, or use sharing features to violate another person’s rights. Reverse-engineering restrictions apply only where lawful.

3. Optional purchases

The game includes free destinations and may offer one-time destination packs and consumable point packs. The current catalog has no subscription. A destination pack unlocks the described collection and removes banners and automatic ads while verified ownership remains active. Optional rewarded videos are separate.

Apple processes available iPhone and iPad purchases. Check the localized price and product description on Apple’s confirmation sheet before buying; prices, tax treatment, and availability vary. A website preview, disabled purchase button, or sandbox test does not create a paid purchase. You must be authorized to use the purchasing account.

Use Restore purchases in the game to check eligible non-consumable destination-pack ownership with the same Apple Account. It does not replenish consumed points, transfer a device’s balance, or restore a backup’s purchase ownership. Apple refunds or revocations can remove pack access; refunded point purchases can reduce the remaining point balance, without making it negative.

Apple handles billing and refund requests. See Apple’s refund instructions and purchase-restoration help. Your statutory remedies remain available; these terms do not impose a blanket no-refund rule.

4. Points, rewards, and ads

Points are a limited permission to use in-game functions, not money, property held for you, or a cash balance. They cannot be cashed out, traded, or transferred to another player. Scores, streaks, postcards, and challenge cards have no cash value or prize entitlement. “Gift a puzzle” shares a free challenge, not points or paid ownership.

Normal word submissions use points as shown in the game. Editing, clues, and practice follow the rules displayed in your version. Rewards and ads depend on eligibility, completion, connectivity, and availability; no particular ad or future reward is guaranteed. A rewarded-video credit requires the native earned-reward confirmation. Legitimate billing or delivery problems should be reported to support.

5. Local saves and sharing

Progress and the points wallet are stored on your device. There is no Word Porch cloud account or automatic device synchronization. Clearing storage, removing the app, device failure, or changing devices can affect local records. Back up progress when possible; the export excludes points, scores, and purchase ownership. We cannot promise recovery of records we do not hold.

You decide what to share and are responsible for your greeting and chosen recipients. Sending a card uses the selected service’s terms and privacy practices. Do not include information you do not intend to share. See our Privacy policy for data handling.

6. Availability and changes

Features, supported systems, content, and store availability can change. The installed game can run its bundled puzzles offline; purchases, restoration, downloads, and ads may require internet or a third-party service. We do not promise uninterrupted access or indefinite compatibility with every device.

We may make reasonable updates for security, compatibility, or product improvements. Changes do not remove statutory rights or remedies relating to paid content. Material changes to these terms will be identified here with an updated date and any additional notice or agreement required by law; they do not retroactively remove accrued rights.

You may stop using Word Porch at any time. A license may end for a material breach only as permitted by the applicable license and law, including any required notice or opportunity to remedy. Ending use does not eliminate mandatory consumer remedies.

7. Warranties and limits of liability

Only to the extent permitted by applicable law, Word Porch is provided as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, fit for every purpose, or compatible with every future system. To that extent, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. No disclaimer removes an express promise or mandatory guarantee that the law requires us to honor.

Where legally permitted, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost business profits or opportunities. For claims where a financial limit is lawful, the Word Porch publisher’s total liability arising from Word Porch is limited to the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid for Word Porch during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Some jurisdictions do not permit particular exclusions; in those places, the limits apply only as far as lawful. Nothing here waives non-excludable consumer rights.

8. Questions and general terms

Contact FangVentures.HQ@gmail.com about an issue so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is not a required step that delays legal deadlines or prevents access to a court, regulator, or other mandatory remedy. These terms do not impose arbitration or waive class-action, jury, or small-claims rights.

Applicable law and any controlling store agreement determine governing law and available courts; this page does not displace mandatory rights available where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent lawful and fair. A failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver of it.
